In the midst of March Madness and the Nittany Lion wrestling and ice hockey teams chasing championships, you may not have noticed that the Penn State men's lacrosse team sits at No. 3 in the nation with an unblemished 7-0 record.

2017 has the potential to be the type of season fans were hoping for when Jeff Tambroni was hired in 2011, but the Lions have only made the NCAA tournament once in his tenure (2013). Tambroni's squad is led by transcendent freshman Mac O'Keefe, who leads the nation in goals per game at a sizzling 4.14. The Lions rank second in the nation as a team in goals per game with 16.29, trailing only Brown.

Five of the Nittany Lions next seven games are televised, starting this afternoon against Fairfield at 4 p.m. on ESPNU. The schedule also ramps up in difficulty, with road trips to traditional powers No. 4 Maryland and No. 14 Johns Hopkins looming, along with No. 5 Rutgers in a BTN primetime tilt at home on April 23.
