For whatever reason, Penn State basketball transfers continue to flock to South Florida. News broke yesterday that Payton Banks would become the third Nittany Lion to join the Bulls' program in the last two years.

The soon-to-be PSU alumnus will join his former teammate Terrence Samuel in Tampa Bay for new head coach Brian Gregory. Both players will look to replace Geno Thorpe's outgoing 15.1 points and 33.0 minutes per game. Thorpe, like Samuel, is currently on the market looking for his third school in five seasons as another grad-transfer.
Now all three of Penn State's outgoing transfers have found new schools. While Pat Chambers has a big week ahead with his own plans to replace these players, it's worth mentioning that all three are staying within his coaching fraternity. That lends credence to the belief that these decisions to leave were mutual between both parties.
Gregory spent some time around the PSU program since he was fired from Georgia Tech, while Isaiah Washington's move to Quinnipiac will help former Villanova associate head coach, Baker Dunleavy, who just took over that program. Neither program is in position to win immediately, but all three players will have the chance at substantial minutes. We wish our fellow future PSU alumni luck at their new destinations.
Now all eyes turn to the staff to find their replacements for next season...
