Enis Plans Blue-White Visit
After receiving his Penn State offer back in late-February, 2018 wide receiver Solomon Enis (North Canyon, Az.) will take his first visit to campus for the Blue-White game, according to Sean Fitz of Lions247.
Enis is rated as a four-star by the 247Composite rankings, and the No. 266 player in the country (No. 47 wide receiver, No. 1 in Arizona). Enis currently has just one crystal ball projection, in favor of Arizona State.
New Offers Out
Penn State sent out a host of notable offers recently. Let's take a closer look at each one.
★★★★ 2019 WDE Brandon Smith (Louisa County, Va.)
Smith picked up his new Penn State offer while visiting this past weekend (his second State College visit in the past two months). Smith is currently rated as the No. 107 player in the 2019 class, as well as the No. 7 weak-side defensive end and No. 3 player in Virginia. Roar Lions Roar will have more on Smith speaking about his new offer in the next day or so.
★★★ 2018 OT Darian Kinnard (St. Ignatius, Oh.)
Simply put, Kinnard is one of the largest human beings you will ever see. Already standing at 6'7, 336 pounds, he is a true beast. He may be a three-star on the composite rankings, but 247Sports themselves have him ranked as the No. 161 player in the country following a strong performance at The Opening camp in Cleveland. Here's what Barton Simmons of 247Sports had to say about him after the camp.
To look at him, you would expect that the massive 6-foot-6 body would be a lumbering leaner. He's not though. He's got great feet, bends well and is quick off the snap. I think he's about to be one of the risers nationally at offensive tackle. He has several offers with Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State among those that have appear to be close.
Upon offering, 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong immediately put in a crystal ball pick in favor of the Nittany Lions.
★★★★★ 2019 DT Ishmael Sopsher (Amite, La.)
Penn State sent out an offer to the No. 2 player in the 2019 class (according to 247Sports) on Monday when they reached out to Sopsher. We were able to briefly speak with Sopsher, and he stated his intentions to try to make a visit to Penn State this upcoming fall. While he doesn't have any connections to the school yet, this was an offer he was waiting for and he's excited about it.
As with any elite player from Louisiana, it would be an extremely tough pull for Penn State to take him away from both LSU and Alabama, but it never hurts to try.
★★★ 2018 SDE Jamarcus Chatman (Rome, Ga.)
Penn State joined the offer sheet for the three-star/four-star defensive end from Georgia, though Miami is the heavy favorite (16/16 crystal ball predictions).
Luketa at The Opening
Jesse Luketa was one of the notable names to compete at The Opening camp in Cleveland, and we have some video for you from that day. Seeing him on the field, it's not difficult to see why he's such a force. He's extremely well-built and has the potential to be a monster at the next level. Luketa has been drawing lots of interest lately from Notre Dame and Ohio State.
