Twitter. It's literally all that Pitt fans have. But is it any good?
As proven once again on Monday night, the answer is in fact a resounding "No." as yinzers logged on to the ol' Twitter machine to communicate with Penn State newest early enrollee and Pittsburgh native, Lamont Wade. Wade, who committed to Penn State on December 17, got the aforementioned yinzers hot under the collar soon after he made his pledge to the Nittany Lions official by posting a picture with future teammate Miles Sanders at the Pitt practice facility on Christmas Day. That tweet has since been, unfortunately, deleted.
On Monday night, after Penn State dropped a 52-49 heartbreaker to USC in one of the most exciting Rose Bowls in recent memory, Pitt Twitter decided to come out the hometown prospect who spurned them.
Man it's a bunch of old men @'n me w no picture of them on their avi and h2p in their bio— Lamont Wade (@Goony_38) January 3, 2017
One fan, in particular, tried to convince the future Lion defensive back that he made the wrong choice by selecting Penn State as the site of his academic and athletic future. Lamont was having none of it.
Wade seems ready to make his mark with the Nittany Lions and show his hometown why he decided to make State College his home for the next four years.
Welp...now it's time to see if I can work my way into a starting position all starting Friday— Lamont Wade (@Goony_38) January 3, 2017
He also knows his days of going back and forth with scorned Pitt fans is quickly coming to an end.
I swear I'm done when I step on campus y'all— Lamont Wade (@Goony_38) January 3, 2017
Between your Twitter game and your determination, we think you'll fit in quite nicely around here, Lamont. Welcome home.
