In a surprise announcement, Ohio State basketball head coach Thad Matta stepped down from the position in a Monday press conference, seemingly as a result of health problems that have plagued him for years

Matta, who had previously coached at Butler and Xavier before going to Columbus, compiled a 337-123 record in 13 years with the Buckeyes, including a 22-2 record against Penn State. He took Ohio State to the Final Four twice in his career and won the Big Ten tournament on four separate occasions.

Best of luck and best of health to Matta in the future.
