With the men's college basketball season just days away, the Michigan State Spartans sit atop the AP Poll, marking the first time Tom Izzo's team has been the preseason No. 1.

The Spartans are joined by three other Big Ten teams, Maryland, Ohio State, and Purdue, all of whom made it to the second of last year's NCAA Tournament.

As of right now, Penn State's first chance to take on a ranked team will be on December 7, when the Nittany Lions travel to Columbus. They'll return to the BJC to take on Maryland just three days later.
