The top-ranked player in the state of Massachusetts for the 2018 recruiting cycle, Pat Freiermuth, is officially a Nittany Lion. Freiermuth decided to pull the trigger after concluding his second visit to Happy Valley of the summer. The big-time tight end adds to what is already shaping up to be an impressive 2018 recruiting class.
Freiermuth camped at Penn State in July and impressed the staff enough to earn a scholarship offer. At that time, he said that Penn State would be his top choice along with Syracuse, where he recently visited.
The freiermuth File
- Class: 2018
- Size: 6'4/225
- Pos: Tight End
- School: Brooks School, (North Andover, MA)
- Composite Rating: ★★★★
- Composite Rank: No. 124 (7)
In addition to Syracuse, Freiermuth holds offers from Duke, Maryland, Rutgers and Wake Forest.
Freiermuth currently attends Brooks School in North Andover (Ma.) where he caught 9 passes for 188 yards as a sophomore. Don't get too caught up in the numbers, though, as Brooks School uses a run-heavy offensive approach. Freiermuth is still very much a prototypical tight end, standing at 6'4, 225 pounds.
Freiermuth is the fourth verbal commitment for Penn State in their 2018 class which includes 5-star Micah Parsons (SDE) and 4-star commits Justin Shorter (WR) and Chris Bleich (OT). Welcome to Penn State and #DoWorkPat!
