After Brett McMurphy and Eleven Warriors unearthed reports of domestic violence allegations against Ohio State wide receivers coach Zach Smith, he was fired by the University on Tuesday.
The allegations against Smith date back to his time as a graduate assistant at Florida under Urban Meyer in 2009. He was arrested for that incident, but his then wife Courtney Carano Smith declined to file charges. Those allegations resurfaced this week when McMurphy reported that Carano Smith had taken out a protective order against her now ex-husband.
Two additional police reports from 2015 were also discovered where Carano Smith was named as the victim, but charges were never filed in either case, and the suspect's name is redacted.
Meyer said he was aware of the 2009 arrest, but was not told of the alleged 2015 incidents.
