Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson has optioned to forgo the 2019 NFL Draft and will return to Ann Arbor for his senior season.
The top-ranked quarterback in the 2016 class, Patterson played for the Ole Miss Rebels for his first two years, before transferring to Michigan following the sanctions put in place at Ole Miss.
A third-team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches, Patterson has thrown for 2364 yards, 21 touchdowns, and five interceptions on the season. The Wolverines will face the Florida Gators on Dec. 29 in the Peach Bowl. If they win, it would be Michigan's first New Years Six win of the Harbaugh era.
