The Tennessee Vandals got their 2019 campaign off to a rocky start with a 38-30 home loss to the Georgia State Panthers.

While the Volunteers didn't necessarily have sky-high expectations this, with the most returning starters in the SEC, they were expected to show improvement and maybe be a dark horse in the SEC East race.

The good news is this is rock bottom in head coach Jeremy Pruitt's rebuild. It's Tennessee's first loss to Group of Five program since 2008 and Georgia State's first win over a Power Five team in school history. The Panthers lost to the Nittany Lions 56-0 at Beaver Stadium in 2017.
