Boston College has fired head coach Steve Addazio after seven seasons, going 44-44 overall and 22-34 in ACC play.

Addazio won seven games in five seasons and one would have had the chance to hit that mark once again in the Eagles' bowl game.

The Connecticut native made a name for himself on Florida's staff in the late 2000s, winning two national titles on the Gator's offensive staff. He became Temple's head coach ahead of the 2011 seasons, going 13-11 in just two seasons in Philadelphia.

Wide receivers coach Rich Gunnell will serve as interim head coach.
