Kansas star running back Pooka Williams has opted out of the remainder of the 2020 season, citing a desire to be closer to his mother and family in Louisiana during these times.

A four-star prospect in the 2018 class, Williams made an immediate impact for the Jayhawks as a true freshman, rushing 1125 yards and seven touchdowns his first year on campus. He followed that up with a sophomore campaign that saw him rush for 1061 yards and three scores. Through the first three games of this season, he's rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns.

It's not known at this time if Williams will return to the Jayhawks next season. He is eligible to enter the 2021 NFL Draft or he could transfer if he wishes to resume his collegiate career at a different school.
