Notre Dame has named Wisconsin transfer Jack Coan their starting quarterback to begin the 2021 campaign.

Coan appeared in 25 games with the Badgers, completing over 67% of his passes for 3278 yards and 23 touchdowns, while throwing eight interceptions.

The former three-star prospect missed the 2020 campaign with a foot injury and entered the transfer portal at the conclusion of the season.

He will replace Ian Book, who despite an up and down career, is the Irish's all-time leader in wins by a starting quarterback.

The Irish begin their season on September 5 against Florida State.
