There’s something to be said about facing your opponent when they’re at their best. There’s also something to be said about winning the game... I hope he makes a full recovery later

Sure, but Penn State played much of last year's game without their starting left tackle and starting defensive end when Bates and Bucholz went out early in the game.

FWIW, Urban confirmed Bosa is indeed out.

Bosa being out is a big deal, but it's not like  they aren't deep at that position anyway.  Still, one less guy is nice.

There is of course talent behind them, but OSU is not especially deep at DE this year, and you don't just plug a new guy in to replace a likely top-3 NFL Draft pick.
