4th in defense is absolutely awesome. Brent Pry is truly an unsung hero

Never forget Virginia owes us a home game

I was going to comment the exact same thing regarding the defense. Number 4 is darn impressive. Especially with how much was lost the year before and the improvements they made as the year went on. Keep adding the talent on that side of the ball and they are going to be scary good.

I'm terrified we're going to lose him to a HC job, but that's a worry for next offseason.

One noted blindspot in S&P+ is coaching changes, which are effectively random and impossible to predict, especially in year 1 of a new coach, even a promoted guy and former "interim" like Ryan Day, so an OSU might be higher than they deserve. Another thing S&P+ is really bad at tracking is Michigan Still Sucks.

I’m really interested to see the difference between Day and Meyer. Does their ceiling decrease 5%? Does their floor now decrease by 10%? Does recruiting slow just a bit and those top 1%’s now go somewhere else?

Its going to be fascinating to see how this plays out. Because any small drop and Penn State is right there to try and capitalize. My gut feeling is they miss the playoffs the next two years, don’t win the conference one of those years, lose to Michigan, and then bam. Bob stoops is the new head coach at osu.

That's a bold claim. Could Ohio State lure him away from his lucrative...

Stoops is an interesting case, as he was their backup if Urban said no back in 2011. However, he'll be 60 in a couple of years, and that is hardly the trend at prime programs.

I honestly think OSU is going to be better, as they won't be as one dimensionally reliant on a running QB to bail them out of every tough game.  Their vertical passing game this year (except us, perhaps) was really impressive - for a change.

I honestly don't think they will be.  You don't replace an elite coach without skipping a beat, and Justin Fields is still an unknown on the field. Plus, we'll also be better so you shouldn't be so pessimistic about our chances.
