“The renovations already completed in Lasch Building have played a critical role in helping develop our student-athletes and build one of the top football programs in the nation. To sustain and strengthen our successes, we need to keep investing to give our students and staff all the tools they need for us to win at the very highest level, on and off the field.”

Can't develop players, can't retain players, can't recruit a balanced roster and can't recruit enough difference makers to overcome coaching shortcomings so you plan to throw as much bling at them as you can and hope enough players rise above mediocre coaching to make a difference. Got it coach. At least we know you have a plan.

Just stop. You bitch at every blessed move and want to run Franklin out of town. Seriously, what’s your deal and what are your expectations of this program?

Given what Franklin and his staff make. I expect perfection, that does not mean he has to win a title every year but it does mean that he has to maximize the team’s potential, which he has failed at each and every year. Simply, he makes twice what he is worth. His assistants make more than they are worth. He and his staff need to earn their salaries and stop crying about their failures.

Which year did we have an unbalanced roster under Franklin?

Year Total S&P+ Offense S&P+ Defense S&P+ Teams Better Than Us at Both
2016 11th 23rd 25th Alabama, Washington, USC, Louisville, Florida State, Clemson
2017 6th 5th 10th Ohio State
2018 15th 36th 11th Clemson, Miss St, Washington, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan

You'll notice only 3 teams appear on this list more than once: Clemson, Alabama, and Washington. It's not damning to be less consistent than those teams.

Can you actually make an argument without resorting to garbage numbers? Yes, S&P Plus is complete and utter garbage.

I've said this to you before, and I'll say it again: S&P+ is one of the most accurate prediction systems in the world. It averages 56% against Vegas spreads, whereas human systems tend to be 49% or lower. Even if you refuse to believe those numbers, I've never once seen you back up your arguments with anything other than "I know people who played football", at least Coach Fitz and I are providing something to back up our claims

"Maybe I'm just a dumb defensive coach"

Yeah gonna need a citation on that claim.

I’d love to see the list of teams who in your scouts eye have had a consistently better offense and defense than us.
