The next step toward the dream of playing in the NFL was realized for seven former Nittany Lions on Thursday. The official list of scouting combine invitees was released, and it features departed seniors QB Trace McSorley and CB Amani Oruwariye, as well as juniors OL Ryan Bates, OL Connor McGovern, DE Shareef Miller, DT Kevin Givens, and RB Miles Sanders. The combine will once again be held in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium from Feb. 28 through March 4, 2019.

Last year, Penn Staters set the combine on fire (figuratively) with top-of-class performances from Saquon Barkley, Mike Gesicki, and Troy Apke, who famously got NFL legend Deion Sanders to quip "he can RUN-RUN!" following Apke's blazing 4.35-second 40-yard dash. In all, eight former Lions were invited to the 2018 combine.
