Amani Oruwariye has a new home with Detroit. THE Lions drafted the former Penn State cornerback with the eighth pick of the 5th round (146 overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft. Oruwariye is the fourth Nittany Lion to hear his named called.

Oruwariye’s selection gives Penn State drafted corners in consecutive years for the first time in modern draft history. Christian Campbell was drafted in 2018 by the Arizona Cardinals and is currently with the New Orleans Saints.

Coming off a senior season featuring 51 tackles, 3 INTs and 12 passes defended, Oruwariye garnered 1st team All-Big Ten honors from the coaches and the media. He accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl and performed well during practices, but skipped the game due to a slight injury.
