McGovern becomes the first Penn State offensive lineman selected in the NFL draft since 2015 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Donovan Smith in the second round. In his three-year career, McGovern proved his versatility on the offensive line playing all three positions. In the NFL, McGovern is projected as a guard with the flexibility to move to center.
McGovern came to Penn State by way of Lake-Lehman High School (Lopez, PA) in 2016 and was crucial in rebuilding the Nittany Lions biggest need at the time. No Penn State unit was hit harder by the sanctions levied by the NCAA in 2012 than the offensive line and McGovern was a central part in bringing the unit back to where it is today. On behalf of all Penn State fans, Roar Lions Roar wishes Connor the best.
