Shareef Miller Drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2019 NFL Draft

Penn State defensive end Shareef Miller is heading back to his hometown after being selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. With the 36th pick of the 4th round (138th overall) Miller becomes the third Penn State player drafted.

In January, Miller announced he was going to forego his senior season to enter the NFL Draft. Miller becomes the first Penn State defensive lineman drafted since 2016 when the Tennessee Titans selected Austin Johnson in the 2nd round. Miller joins former Penn Stater Miles Sanders on the Eagles roster.

In his career, Miller finished with 100 total tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks. In 2018, he started all 13 games for the Nittany Lions tallied 41 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks. The Philadelphia native (George Washington High School) was part of the 2015 recruiting class that included NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Saquon Barkley.
