Twenty-six miles in a marathon and that a fitting number for former Penn State running back Miles Sanders to wear as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. Selected in the second round by the Birds, Sanders is making a switch from the No. 24 he wore as a Nittany Lion. Sanders and former Penn State defensive lineman, Shareef Miller signed their rookie deals with the Eagles on Thursday. Terms have not yet been disclosed.

After two years behind Saquon Barkley, Sanders took over the primary ball carrying duties for Penn State in 2018, and vaulted himself to the second running back selected in the 2019 NFL Draft. Sanders now shares more than a lofty pick slot with his predecessor, as both will sport No. 26 as rivals in the NFC East. Currently, running back Jordan Howard wears No. 24 for the Eagles. No word though if Sanders will need to update the roman numerals at the end of his Twitter handle.
