Former Penn State defensive end Carl Nassib has signed a three-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders for a reported $25 million dollars. The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported details of the deal Tuesday night and noted that $17 million is fully guaranteed.
The former Lion was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2016 draft. After being cut from the Browns, Nassib signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and has played there the past two seasons and served as a captain last season.
Nassib came to Penn State as a "run-on," but flourished his senior season when he was named the Lombardi Award winner and a first-team All-American. In 2015, he set the Penn State single-season record with 15.5 sacks, which led all of FBS that season. The new contract pushes Nassib's guaranteed career NFL earnings over $21 million. Pretty, pretty, pretty good.
