With each passing day, the 2021 NFL Draft inches closer and closer. Three Nittany Lion seniors, center Michal Menet, cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields, and defensive end Shaka Toney, will look to improve their stock for that draft at season's end by attending the Senior Bowl in Mobile. Alabama. The three all accepted their invitations to the event per the Penn State Football Twitter account.
In recent years, Penn State has sent cornerback Amani Oruwariye, quarterback Trace McSorley, linebacker Cam Brown, defensive tackle Robert Windsor, and others to the event, and typically the former Nittany Lions have become standout performers at the event.
All three will likely be selected in the next draft, and all will have a good shot to become contributors at the next level. It's still possible that another Lion or two could be invited to the event, as the rosters are very fluid while they await responses to the invitations and monitor players throughout the season. Other names who could be considered include defensive tackle Antonio Shelton, offensive lineman Will Fries, and defensive end Shane Simmons.
The 2021 Senior Bowl is set for Saturday, January 30 at 2:30 pm ET. Roar Lions Roar will keep you updated on that game (and the even more important preceding practices) as well as all other NFL Draft news heading into what could be an impressive draft class for Penn State.
