Penn State edge rusher Shaka Toney has been selected in the seventh round (pick no.246) in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Washington Football Team.

A four-year contributor, Toney totalled 115 tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss, and 20 sacks, earning All-Big Ten honors in his junior and senior seasons. He ranks eighth all-time in program history in sacks and shares ownership of the team record for most sacks in a single game.

He shined at the Senior Bowl this past winter, showing that he can drop back in coverage and opening the door to a potential position change to linebacker. He also put together a solid Pro Day performance back in late-March. While teammates Micah Parsons and Odefe Oweh stole the headlines, Toney put up 24 bench press reps, a 4.51 40-yard dash, and 39" vertical.
