Odafe Oweh came up huge for the Ravens in their upset win on Sunday Night Football when he forced and recovered the game-winning fumble to seal a 36-35 win for Baltimore. It was Oweh's first forced fumble and first fumble recovery of his very young NFL career.
Through just two games, Oweh has already made an impact with the Ravens, racking up 5 tackles, a sack, and now the strip and fumble recovery. The first-round draft selection out of Penn State is quickly starting to establish himself as one of the better players on the always-menacing Baltimore defense.
Oweh, who previously went by Jayson while in college, played for Penn State from 2018 through the 2020 season before declaring early for the NFL Draft. During his career as a Nittany Lion, he accounted for 37 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles in just 20 total games. His freakish athleticism helped him see the field early and often in Happy Valley, and it looks like it's doing the same now in the NFL.
Between this play, Odafe's brother Kaylen joining the Penn State Basketball as a walk-on last week, and his other brother Otega set to announce his commitment on Friday (Penn State is favored), it's been quite the week for the Oweh family.
Keep making us proud, Odafe!
