In news that will not surprise anyone who watched him play college football, Odafe Oweh (formerly known as Jayson) is already a monster in the NFL. After a game-changing performance in his Ravens' win over the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, Oweh was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
Oweh ended the night with 3 tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, but his impact went beyond the box score. The fumble that he both forced and recovered was the highlight, as it sealed the win for Baltimore.

His other splash play won't be remembered in any set of statistics but did lead to a tide-turning interception.

Oweh's hit on Mahomes caused the superstar quarterback to throw up a duck which was easily picked off. The Ravens immediately turned around and scored on the ensuing drive to pull within a score of the high-powered Kansas City team, before later taking the lead for good and keeping it thanks to the Oweh fumble recovery.
Through two games, Oweh has already accumulated 7 quarterback pressures, good for second among rookies (behind only his former teammate Micah Parsons). He is very quickly becoming an integral part of the defense in spite of his many doubters ahead of the NFL Draft who thought his lack of sacks in the 2020 season meant he would be a bust.
