The best season in Penn State history has led to the top seed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever.

The Nittany Lions will host the winner of the Marist vs. UMBC play-in game at Panzer Stadium. The action will get underway at noon on Sunday, May 12.

Penn State is going to be the odds on favorite to claim the national championship in Philadelphia on Memorial Day. The Nittany Lions have won 11 straight since suffering their only loss on the season, a 14-13 decision to defending national champions Yale.

In their history, the Nittany Lions have never won an NCAA Tournament game with four first-round exits to their name, including two under coach Jeff Tambroni. Next weekend they will look to change all of that and enter the winners column in May Madness.

If Penn State can prevail in their first round contest, as they will be heavily favored to do, they will take on the winner of the Loyola vs. Syracuse game.
