Three-star 2021 center Elijah Hutchins-Everett has decommited from Penn State basketball, leaving the Nittany Lions with no commits in their 2021 class.
After long thought and consideration, I have decided to decommit from Penn State. I will be reopening my recruitment.— Elijah H. Everett (@ElijahHEverett8) November 15, 2020
A top-200 player nationally and the No. 3 player in New Jersey according to 247Sports, Hutchins-Everett committed to Penn State back in August, seemingly giving the Nittany Lions their center of the future. However, Hutchins-Everett followed in the footsteps of Houston Mallette and TaQuan Woodley. and opted to reopen his recruitment after the forced resignation of Patrick Chambers.
Penn State basketball is heading into a season of unknowns, with Jim Ferry set to operate as the interim head coach for the entirety of the season. No timetable has been set to find a full-time successor to Patrick Chambers.
