Penn State Basketball 2022 Target Four-Star Otega Oweh Set to Commit

One of Penn state's top remaining basketball targets in the 2022 class is nearing his final college decision. Four-star prospect Otega Oweh is set to make his choice public later this month.

The Blair Academy (NJ) guard told On3 Recruits' Joseph Tipton he will be announcing his decision on Sept. 24, with Penn State very much in the mix to secure his commitment.

In addition to Penn State, the nation's No. 73 overall-ranked prospect has also recently completed visits to Illinois, Miami (FL), and Oklahoma.

Oweh, of course, is the younger brother of former Penn State and current Baltimore Ravens edge rusher, Odafe Oweh, so a strong connection between Happy Valley and the Oweh family already very much exists.

In fact, another Oweh, Kaylen, recently joined the hoops team as a walk-on. While that's not a sure-fire sign Otega will make Penn State his pick, it certainly is intriguing given the timing.

The 2022 recruiting class already includes top-150 prospect guard Jameel Brown (No. 126 in his class) as well as forward Evan Mahaffey (No. 181) and guard Kanye Clary (No. 214). Should Oweh choose Penn State, he would become the highest-rated player in the class. His presence would also elevate the Nittany Lions to the No. 8 recruiting class in the country for the 2022 cycle.
