Penn State basketball secures commitment from 2022 four-star center Kebba Njie

Amidst all of the buzz ahead of the football team's White Out clash with Auburn, the hoops team made a splash of its own with the commitment of four-star 2022 center Kebba Njie on Saturday.

The La Lumiere School (Indiana) prospect chose the Nittany Lions over in-state school Butler and Kansas State. He becomes the highest-ranked center commit in program history.

The Njie File

  • Class: 2022
  • Size: 6'8/205
  • Pos: C
  • School: La Lumiere School (La Porte, IN)
  • Composite Rating: ★★★★
  • Composite Rank: No. 17 center, No. 104 overall

At 6-foot-8, 205 pounds, Njie is the No. 4-ranked player in Indiana and No. 104 overall player in his class.

He brings the number of commitments in the 2022 class to four and gives Micah Shrewsberry a much-needed true big man for this recruiting cycle. The Nittany Lions are currently without a true center in their scholarship grid, and as much as we'd love John Harrar to remain the team forever, that sadly isn't possible.

Penn State's recruiting class already includes commitments from top-150 prospect guard Jameel Brown, as well as top-215 prospects forward Evan Mahaffey and guard Kanye Clary. The class now ranks ninth nationally.
