The Big Ten Network released their full TV schedule yesterday afternoon for the upcoming basketball season. With the exception of just a few games, Penn State's 2017-18 schedule is now complete with tip times and broadcast assignments.

In what's no longer actually news in this era of digital media, the Nittany Lions will have all of their conference games on national television but surprisingly, not one of them will tip-off later than 8:00pm. That's the good news for fans at home that can't make mid-week trips to Happy Valley.

With Fox Sports joining the league's new TV deal this season, there was a chance viewers would get some more variety in their color analysts, but that's not going to be the case for Nittany Lions fans. Sixteen of Penn State's Big Ten games will be shown on the Big Ten Network. That's a heavy dose of Shon Morris and Stephen Bardo to keep you warm all winter long. Only PSU's home games against Wisconsin and Northwestern will be on different networks (ESPN2 and Fox Sports 1).

The non-conference TV schedule is even less favorable, but that's undoubtedly due to the Lions' weak slate. Penn State will have six of their non-conference games and their exhibition against Bloomsburg on the BTN's Plus online service, which requires a subscription fee to access what are basically student broadcasts. Unfortunately that's what's to be expected when scheduling the likes of Fairleigh Dickinson and Binghamton.

Overall, this is a favorable schedule to expect at least 20 wins from a more experienced team. There are not many late starts or unreasonable turnarounds, although we've said before how crucial the two early December league games would be. If the Lions could win two of three against NC State, Iowa, and Wisconsin, that would establish some early momentum not only within their locker-room but also within the fan base.
