Penn State opened its 2019-20 season with a resounding 84-46 victory over the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks. It was exactly the way a clearly more talented team should handle a less talented team, which hasn't always been the case in Pat Chambers' tenure. The Nittany Lions raced out to a double-digit lead, poured it on after halftime, and were never threatened. It was an ideal start to what hopes to be a promising season in Happy Valley.

Senior center Mike Watkins led the way with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 blocks in just 20 minutes. Penn State totaled six players in double figures as Lamar Stevens (17) led all scorers, Myles Dread (15) was 5-6 from three, and Curtis Jones, Myreon Jones, and Izaiah Brockington all chipped in 10 points. True freshman Seth Lundy scored his first collegiate points with 3 off the bench.
In a game full of highlights, Jamari Wheeler and Stevens combined for one of the more ridiculous alley-oops you'll see this year.
