Following an outstanding performance on Tuesday night that led to Penn State upsetting previously undefeated No. 4 Maryland, the Lions took to the locker room to celebrate after partying with the student body on the court.
The Lions won by a final of 76-69, in a game that frankly should have had an even larger final margin of victory. Mike Watkins and Lamar Stevens led the way with 15 points each, but five Lions in all found their way to double-digit scoring outings.
This was a huge win for Pat Chambers and this program, and the team clearly knows it. It's not the first time Penn State has pulled off a huge win over a highly-ranked opponent, but this one feels different. This win wasn't nearly as out-of-nowhere as ranked wins in the past, and it didn't feel like that monumental of an upset.
Instead, it felt like a stepping stone to something bigger.
And that is something to celebrate.
