Fans are going to get an inside look at the Penn State basketball program in a way that they never have before. The Nittany Lions will appear on the FS1 All-Access Showcase as part of its matchup with Illinois on Tuesday, February 18.

According to the details from Penn State, the broadcast will be commercial-free for the entirety of the game (seemingly including halftime). Head coach Pat Chambers will have a microphone on for the whole night, meaning that fans will get to hear how the Lions leading man encourages, coaches up, and motivates his team in what will be an important game against the Illini. Though we will assume that specific tactics and plays will be kept private, we should learn a lot about how Chambers runs his team.

This should also provide a fascinating look inside what gameday at the Bryce Jordan Center is truly like. From a closer look at the players, to huddle conversations, and more, it should be great exposure for the program and a useful recruiting tool.

The game itself should prove to be quite eventful and plenty impactful on its own. Penn State has climbed back to .500 in the league after wins over Ohio State and Michigan. The Illini have raced out a 6-2 mark in the league, good for second overall in the conference standings nearly halfway through the schedule.

FS1 will pick up coverage of the game at 6:30 on Feb. 18. Be sure to stick with Roar Lions Roar over the coming weeks as we continue to cover the surging Lions and their quest for an NCAA Tournament berth.
