With its final game of the regular season on tap, Penn State announced that big man Mike Watkins will miss Saturday's game against Northwestern due to a violation of team rules.

There's no word as to what the violation was, or if it will cause Watkins to miss any additional time outside of the Northwestern game. The wording of the tweet seems to imply that it will only be a one-game absence, but that's simply a guess at this point.

Watkins has been a bit inconsistent for the Lions this season but is still averaging a strong 9.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game in a backup role. Since John Harrar has taken over in the starting lineup, Watkins has been able to work his way into things each night and stay fresher throughout the course of the game.

The Lions will take on the Wildcats at 4:00 pm ET in Evanston as they look to snag one final win ahead of the Big Ten Tournament.
