Former Penn State basketball star Mike Watkins will play professional basketball in South America. The big forward signed with Cimarrones del Chocó of the Colombian Professional Basketball League.

Watkins appeared in 119 games over four seasons in Happy Valley, helping lead the team to an NIT title in 2018. He averaged 9.8 points, eight rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game in his career. He would have been a key factor in what would have been Penn State's first NCAA Tournament run in nine seasons had the event not have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Watkins' long-time teammate Lamar Stevens will make his case for a professional career in the coming days as he participates in the NBA Draft combine. The draft is expected to take place in November.
