Penn State transfer guard Sam Sessoms has been granted a waiver from the NCAA and will be eligible immediately for the Nittany Lions, according to CBSSports' Jon Rothstein.

A rising junior, Sessoms has a second-team All-America East selection after averaging 19.4 points, 4.8 assists, and five steals for the Binghamton Bearcats last season. He was the America East Rookie of the Year after his freshman season, quickly becoming one of the top guards in a non-power conference.

The Philadelphia native will add some depth to an already solid Penn State backcourt which features Jamari Wheeler, Myreon Jones, Myles Drad.

No official start date has been given for the season, but it's expected to tip off late next month.
