It's been a rough couple of weeks for Penn State basketball, but program great Lamar Stevens provided a light on Tuesday night with a game-winning dunk to Cleveland Cavaliers the victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
Stevens has seen his role slowly increase over the course of the season, with the Cavs front court dealing with a litany of injuries. He's averaging 4.5 points, and 2.7 boards while playing just over 14 minutes a game.
The Philadelphia native is still on a two-way contract, but the Cavaliers will have to decide soon whether or not to sign him to a full-time NBA deal. If Stevens continues his solid play, the organization may have no choice but to have him on the big league roster full-time.
Stevens and the Cavs are back in action tonight against the Houston Rockets.
