Even in the midst of March Madness bracket previews, debates and predictions, Penn State managed to create a little buzz of its own in the college basketball world on Monday. According to reports, Penn State will hire Purdue associate head coach Micah Shrewsberry as its next men's basketball head coach.

The Athletic's Senior College Basketball Writer (and PSU alum) Dana O'Neil labeled it a "terrific hire," and shared a nice profile on Shrewsberry's role under Matt Painter.

If Shrewsberry can recruit players with the skill-levels of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to play at Penn State, we are all in!

Former Ohio State (we won't hold this against him this time) big man Jared Sullinger, who played under Shrewsberry during his time with the Celtics, shared his thoughts.

Confirmed: Indiana fired Archie Miller because they knew he wasn't good enough to compete with Micah Shrewsberry. We're not here to take part, we're here to take over.

It is a very fun name to say!

Are these offensive numbers good? They seem good.

Another former Celtic who played under Shrewsberry in Boston weighed in. Does anybody know if IT has college eligibility left?

While the majority of Twitter reactions to the hire were positive, some Penn Staters are in wait-and-see mode before they make any judgements.
