Trent Buttrick's time at Penn State has come to a close. The 6-foot-8 forward announced via Twitter on Wednesday that he would be heading to the Atlantic 10 to play for UMASS.
Buttrick played sparingly his first three seasons for the Nittany Lions, but was elevated into a larger role in 2020-21 behind John Harrar at the five spot.
He played a career-high 13.3 minutes per game this season and featured in all 25 of Penn State's game, averaging 3.0 points and 3.0 rebounds a game.
Buttrick has one year of eligibility remaining and should see a decent amount of playing time for UMASS next season. The Minutemen lost All-Conference forward Tre Mitchell to the transfer portal.
