Former Gardner-Webb transfer point guard Jaheam Cornwall has committed to Penn State, according to his Twitter and Instagram.
Cornwall was named first-team All-Big South in 2020-21 after averaging 14.1 points and 3.8 assists per game, and shooting 40.8 percent from three. In two of his four seasons with the Runnin' Bulldogs, Cornwall's three-point average topped 43 percent. In 2018-19, he started 11 games for a Gardner-Webb team that reached the NCAA Tournament.
Cornwall, originally from Brooklyn, New York, brings a sorely needed scoring punch to the Nittany Lions after the loss of leading scorer Myreon Jones to Florida and the recent re-entry of Izaiah Brockington into the transfer portal. New head coach Micah Shrewsberry still has at least five open scholarships, so there will be plenty of more action in the coming weeks and months as he looks to solidify his roster.
