Pickett has been one of the better players in the MAAC since his arrival for the Saints in 2018, being named a First-Team All-Conference selection in each of the past three years and the Conference Player of the Year after the 2019-2020 season.
Like Gardner-Webb transfer Jaheam Cornwall, who committed to Penn State on Friday, Pickett will bring some needed scoring to the Nittany Lions' backcourt, especially after the departures of Jamari Wheeler, Myreon Jones and Izaiah Brockington (assuming he doesn't return to the Nittany Lions a second time after entering the transfer portal again).
Pickett averaged over 15 points per game in his Player of the Year-winning season, and 12.0 points per game in the most recent campaign. In 2020-21, he also averaged 6.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists.
Considered one of the best mid-major players to have entered the transfer portal, Picket's commitment is a huge pickup for Micah Shrewsberry and his staff as next season's roster continues to take shape.
Penn State probably isn't done yet in making some moves in the portal, so stay tuned for more transfer news.
