Former Penn State head coach Pat Chambers is back in the coaching world.
On Tuesday, CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reported that Chambers is joining the coaching staff at La Salle in a voluntary capacity as "Special Assistant to the Head Coach."

As we all know by now, Chambers stepped down from his position at Penn State on the eve of the 2020 season last October, with the exact details on why he and the athletic department decided to part ways still unclear more than a year later.
Chambers, one of the school's longest-tenured head coaches, went 148-150 in nine seasons at Penn State, with the highlight being an NIT Title in 2018.
His team almost certainly would have made it to the NCAA Tournament during the 2019-20 season if not for the tourney's cancellation because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
