For the Future (08.11.17): No. 1 Recruiting Class, Player Honors, and More

Nittany Lions Number one

Penn State’s 2018 recruiting class is now number one on Rivals Team Football Rankings. The Nittany Lions boast 23 players, 17 of whom are four-star commits with an average of 3.7 stars. Both 247Sports and Scout have the Lions slotted at No. 4, with ESPN ranking the class No. 3 nationally.

Bresee on Recruiting Process 

Bryan Bresee, the top-ranked player in the class of 2020 according to 247Sports spoke with Steve Wiltfong about the schools that are interested in him and his experience with the recruiting process. The 6-foot-5, 260-pound tight end currently holds 19 offers, one of which is from Penn State. Bresee added that he plans to attend a few Penn State games soon.

Speaking of the Class of 2020, 247Sports debuted their top-100 for the current season's high school sophomore class. Nittany Lion target Bryan Bresee tops the list, but his hardly the only target to make the cut. Nine players currently hold offers from Penn State.

Aloha Slade

Four-star RB Ricky Slade is headed to the Aloha state to participate in the 2018 Polynesian Bowl. The bowl features elite high school players of Polynesian heritage and other ancestries.

Preseason All Americans

Four-star safety and Penn State commit Isheem Young along with four-star safety Kwantel Raines earned Preseason All-American honors from MaxPreps. While Young announced his public commitment to the Nittany Lions last month, Raines is still undecided, with Penn State in his top five.
