I hope you're right, steve
247's Steve Wiltfong talked about James Franklin turning Penn State into a place overflowing with blue chippers in its recruiting classes. His 2018 crystal ball has five-star PA DE Micah Parsons, four-star OH DE Tyreke Smith, four-star NJ DE Jayson Oweh, four-star MD OT Rasheed Walker, and, if there's room, four-star PA S Kwantel Raines all heading to Happy Valley. That would be an absolute coup by Franklin and his staff, bucking Ohio State for the first three and beating out Pitt in-state for the fourth. As Wiltfong notes, the class is near capacity at this point. Finish strong, Jimmy!
it's raine-ing tackles
I'm so sorry. I'll never do that again. Here's Kwantel messing some kids up.

In his Crootletter, SB Nation's Bud Elliott talked up Penn State's in-season recruiting push. He cited BSD's Patrick Koerbler, who discussed perpetual FtF topic Parsons as well as Ohio-based target Smith. As we said, nabbing either would be huge for the Lions. As Koerbler notes, stealing a recruit from Urbz' backyard would be an incredible feat.
More Micah fun
Land of 10's Tyler Donohue went long on Parsons, including a detailed conversation with his father. The whole thing is worth a read. However, Parsons' dad seemingly misspoke about a possible date set for the five-star defensive end's commitment. He currently has a visit scheduled to Nebraska, but nothing else on the timeline. Keep your ears perked up this fall.
Update: Just heard from @Micah_parsons23's father, Terrence, who said this about 11/4 commitment:
"I spoke prematurely on that situation." https://t.co/xmG60MqazC

Army of two
Parsons and hopefully future teammate Shaq Anderson-Butts took a picture together at Parsons' Army Bowl jersey presentation, and they both look enthralled.
