an offer from the big ten champs 

Three-star defensive end Noah Potter (Mentor, OH)  received an offer from the Nittany Lions Thursday. The Class of 2019 player also holds offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, and NC State, among others. His older brother plays hoops for Ohio State, and Urban Meyer has some unique plans to keep the younger Potter in the Buckeye State.

Bowles offer 

Class of 2019 offensive tackle Tanner Bowles (Glasgow, KY) received an offer from the Nittany Lions, placing his total count at 11 including the Universtiy of Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Tennessee, and Oklahoma.

Hoops on a Mission

Staff from Penn State basketball, along with Georgetown and Virginia Tech took a trip to the Mountain Mission School to watch Class of 2018 center Florent Thamba (Grundy, VA). Thamba also received an offer from the Nittany Lions, placing his offer count at nine schools including Virginia Tech, Memphis, and Oklahoma State

a Minor Setback

State College native and Penn State recruit Keaton Ellis (State College, PA) will miss six weeks of play as the cornerback suffered a broken thumb and will require surgery.

Cine Visit 

Four-star safety Lewis Cine (Everett, MA)  took his first trip to Happy Valley last week. Read from Blue White Illustrated’s Ryan Snyder on how the trip went ($).


It would appear that whatever faint hope Penn State had of reeling Justin Fields back in is gone. The top player in the 2018 recruiting class will be announcing his college choice later today. James Franklin and the staff had stayed in touch, hoping to earn a late official visit, but Fields will be deciding between Florida State, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, and LSU.
