Just over five weeks ago, five-star quarterback Justin Fields announced he was decommitting from Penn State. The Nittany Lions now have his replacement. After camping in Happy Valley on Friday evening, three-star Connecticut quarterback Will Levis earned a scholarship offer, and quickly accepted.

Levis has been one of the more intriguing prospects in the country this summer. Since the start of June, he has camped at Iowa, North Carolina, and Florida State. All three programs extended a scholarship offer shortly after seeing him up close. Penn State began showing interest shortly after Fields' decision in early-June, but wanted to see him with their own eyes before extending an offer.
The LEVIS File
- Class: 2018
- Size: 6'4, 222 lbs.
- Pos: QB
- School: Xavier High School (Middletown, CT)
- Composite Rating: ★★★ (.8545)
- Composite Rank: No. 701 nationally, No. 20 Pro style QB
Ole Miss, Syracuse, UConn, and Cincinnati also offered Levis in just the last six weeks. However, this battle ultimately came down to the two Big Ten programs, Iowa and the Nittany Lions.
Levis is not a brand new name to Penn State. In fact, he made his first visit to Happy Valley last November for the Lions' big win over the Hawkeyes. While Fields had yet to commit at that point, it was very clear he was the primary target for Joe Moorhead and James Franklin at quarterback.
Levis is commit No. 16 in the class, and the second of the Lasch Bash weekend after Judge Culpepper joined the class on Friday afternoon. Penn State's class remains at No. 3 nationally in the 247Sports rankings.
