With the fifth selection in the 2017 Lasch Bash Draft, the Nittany Lions select Daniel George. Wide receiver. Oxon Hill, Maryland.
For the fifth time as a result of the annual Lasch Bash, James Franklin tweeted out his signature "We Are...Better" tweet. This time it is the four-star wide receiver Daniel George. George has long been an apple of Penn State's eye, as they look to bring in more and more firepower for their explosive offense.
The George File
- Class: 2018
- Size: 6'1.5/201 lbs.
- Pos: Wide receiver
- School: Oxon Hill (Oxon Hill, MD)
- Composite Rating: ★★★★ (0.9161)
- Composite Rank: No. 208 overall, No. 43 WR
George holds offers from a host of power five programs, including Maryland, North Carolina, Iowa, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, and others.
Despite seeming to be a Penn State lean for some time, George pumped the breaks on his recruitment, staying very quiet in the wake of his February visit to Happy Valley. He returned to campus this past weekend for the Lasch Bash, however, and must have seen everything else he needed to see to pull the trigger and officially announce his intentions.
George joins Justin Shorter to form an elite receiving duo in the 2018 class, and one that could find themselves together on the field sooner rather than later.
George is commitment number 19 in the class and the second wide receiver, joining five-star commit Justin Shorter. Penn State remains No. 3 in the national recruiting rankings.
