After a weekend that saw the Nittany Lions net verbal commitments from Judge Culpepper, Will Levis, Shaquon Anderson-Butts, Jake Pinegar, Daniel George, and, lastly, Isheem Young, Penn State rose from fourth to third in the 247Sports 2018 recruiting rankings. The six pledges gained by James Franklin and the coaching staff in the wake of the Lasch Bash rocketed the Lions well past Tennessee and puts them behind only Miami and Big Ten rival Ohio State in the rankings.

The Buckeyes took over the top spot on Monday after the addition of top tight end Jeremy Ruckert to their 2018 class.

The final addition of Young, who committed on Tuesday afternoon, gives Penn State a total team score of 257.30 with 20 prospects. While the Lions don't have a five-star commitment according to the 247Sports Composite, they have moved well ahead of the teams behind them on the back of 10 four-star commitments and nine three-stars.
