Three months ago, Jayson Oweh was a relatively unknown prospect out of Blairstown, N.J. Now, he might be one of the most sought after players in the 2018 class. Just a week after impressing at Ohio State's Friday Night Lights camp, and two weeks after another visit to Happy Valley for the Lasch Bash, he has put together a plan for his commitment announcement.
It was thought that Oweh may look to select a school in the next few weeks, prior to his senior season. If that was the case, it seemed like Penn State and Ohio State led the pack, with Notre Dame a somewhat distant third.
With the Under Armour All-American game set for January 2018, Oweh will now have the benefit of not only more time to make a confident decision, but also time to see how each program he is considering evolves during the season. The additional time could also lead to tough scholarship number decisions being made at a number of schools hoping to land the uber-athletic four-star prospect.
